   This movie tells us about two sisters who lose their parents, mother with cancer and father with tuberculosis. At the age of six they are separated against the will.

They are German. One will live with her aunt in the Netherlands and the other will go to a rural area in Germany at an uncle's house. One of them, Lotte, has tuberculosis.

Lotte and Anna tried to communicate through letters. But Lotte's adoptive father did not allow the letters to be send.

   Anna did heavy work in the countryside. He had a blacksmith friend in the nearby village who allied himself with the Nazi army in the hope of a fairer world. Deceived with Nazi propaganda and trying to convince Anna about the prosperous future of the country. Anna, however, said goodbye to her friend without many expectations about the imminent changes. However, gossips went to tell her uncle that she didn't like the Nazis and even less the blacksmith, that she had kissed him on his farewell to the front. The uncle, uncontrolled, beats her. Anna is placed under the care of nuns. Adult, she goes to work in the house of a lady follower of Hitler who wants to educate her in the

   Cleaning dust and embroidery. Anna wants to study what she was not allowed as a child.

   Discover, then, with the visit of two agents of the Nazi government that she is being

Wanted to have a sterectomy because she was considered with compromised intelligence. Fact declared by her uncle, of course to justify the slavery that subjected her in the field.

   The agents' statement makes her indignant. What leads you to run away to work in another house. Anna gets along very well with the owner of the mansion, a countess.

Lotte also discovers that her uncles hid the letters she had written to her sister. Encouraged by her fiancé, she decided to meet Anne.

   The meeting took place at the countess' house because tonight there would be a formal dinner offered to the Nazi officers. And Anne would have to work. After dinner Lotte witnesses grotesque scene. The stuffed and alcoholic Nazi officers demonstrate all the animality within themselves. Animality in the predatory sense. Males of the "superior species of the race" not only spit on the plate they eat but also tap dance with duty boots on the pure linen of the table where they had dinner of the best food that could be offered. And, in addition, they shot firearms at the servants who prepared everything to satisfy them in that meal.

The indifference, the lack of respect for everything and everyone as if serving them was a privilege. Revealing the arrogance and lack of notion of humanity itself. Horror show! It is with this concept that Lotte returns. So much so that when, near home, listening to the approach of the Nazi soldiers, she who speaks German well, goes to meet them.

Back home, talk to your parents that they didn't offer any danger, they were just young Germans and talked about food, etc.

This question confuses Lotte until she discovers that while the whole family was starving, her uncle, who had negotiated with Germans, ate hidden in his office of the good and the best. And, when discovered by her, he still tried to bribe her with a sandwich so that she wouldn't tell others.

Lotte is confused by the violence and indifference around her. She wants to determine where it comes from, but just like wheat, it is scattered everywhere. Just as for Anna, being Jewish was also a sign of not being good, for Lotte every German officer was monstrous. Although Anna's husband chose this path to be able to stay in the communications sector, away from the front and violence because he was a loving and quiet man.

The chaff next to the wheat, the enemy plants to confuse us.

As they can coexist in all religious institutions, in all ideologies, social classes, genders, ages or any other category that you want to use are not easy to be perceived because they mask. This is a truth that the movie brings us. And that we need to have in us the ability to love to be able to see in the world what really has value. Maybe Paulo's temporary blindness was so that he could see with his heart

    Esse filme nos conta sobre duas irmãs que perdem seus pais , mãe com câncer e o pai com tuberculose.  Aos seis anos são separadas contra -vontade . 

    Elas são alemães.  Uma vai morar com tia na Holanda e a outra vai para área rural na Alemanha na casa de um tio. Uma delas Lotte , está tuberculosa. 

    Lotte e Anna tentaram se comunicar por meio de cartas. Mas pai adotivo de Lotte não permitiu  que as cartas fossem enviadas. 

    Anna fazia trabalho pesado na roça. Tinha um amigo ferreiro na vila próxima que se aliou ao exército nazista na esperança de um mundo mais justo. Iludido com a propaganda nazista e tentando convencer Anna sobre o futuro próspero do país.  Anna porém, despediu.se do amigo sem muitas expectativas sobre as iminentes mudanças. Porém , fofoqueiras foram contar a seu tio que, não gostava dos nazistas e menos ainda do ferreiro, que ela o havia beijado em sua despedida para o front. O que não era verdade .  O tio , descontrolado,  a espanca.  Anna é colocada sob o cuidados de freiras. Adulta, vai trabalhar na casa de uma senhora seguidora de Hitler que quer educa-lá nas 

a limpar poeira e bordar. Anna quer estudar o que não lhe foi permitido enquanto criança.  

     Descobre, então, com a visita de dois agentes do governo nazista que ela está sendo

Procurada para fazer uma esterectomia pois foi considerada com inteligência comprometida.  Fato declarado pelo seu tio , claro que para justificar a escravidão que a submetia no campo. 

A comunicado dos agentes a deixa indignada.  O que a vc leva a fugir para empregar-se em outra  casa . Anna se dá muito bem com a dona da mansão , uma condessa. 

     Lotte também descobre que seus tios escondiam as cartas que ela havia escrito para a irmã.  incentivada pelo noivo, resolveu ir se encontrar com Anne.

     O encontro se deu na casa da condessa  pois essa noite aconteceria um jantar formal oferecido para os oficiais nazistas. E Anne teria de trabalhar.  Após o jantar Lotte presencia cena grotesca . Os oficiais nazistas empanturrados e alcoolizados demonstram toda a animalidade dentro de si. Animalidade no sentido predatório. Machos da “ espécie superior da raça “ não apenas cospem no prato que comem também sapateiam com botas imundas sobre o puro linho da mesa onde ceiaram da melhor comida que poderia ser oferecida. E, além disso , atiraram com armas de fogo  nas servas que prepararam  tudo  para satisfazê-los naquela refeição.          

A indiferença, a falta de respeito por tudo e por todos como se servi-los fosse um privilégio.   Revelando  a arrogância e falta de noção da própria humanidade. Show de horror!  É com esse conceito  que Lotte volta . Tanto que quando, perto de casa , ouvindo aproximação dos soldados nazistas , ela que fala bem alemão , vai ao encontro deles. 

De volta a casa , fala com seus pais que eles não ofereciam nenhum perigo eram apenas jovens alemães e conversaram sobre comida , etc. 

Essa questão confunde Lotte até que descobre que enquanto toda a família passava fome , seu tio, que havia negociado com alemães, comia escondido em seu escritório do bom e do melhor. E , quando descoberto por ele ainda tentou suborna-la com sanduíche para que não contasse aos outros.  

  Lotte se confunde com a violência e indiferença  em volta de si. Ela quer determinar de onde vem mas assim como joio no trigo esta está espalhada por toda parte. Assim como para Anna também ser judeu era sinal de não ser bom,  para Lotte todo oficial alemão era monstruoso. Embora o marido de Anna tenha escolhido esse caminho para poder  ficar no setor de comunicações , longe do front e da violência pois era um homem amoroso e pacato.                  

    O joio junto ao trigo, o inimigo planta para nos confundir. 

    Como podem co-existir em todas as instituições religiosas, em todas ideologias , classes sociais, gêneros, idades ou qualquer outra categoria que se queira usar  não são fáceis de serem percebidas pois se mascaram.  Essa é uma verdade que o filme nos traz. E que precisamos ter em nós a capacidade de amar pra poder vermos no mundo o que realmente tem valor. Talvez a cegueira temporária de  Paulo tenha sido para  que ele pudesse enxergar com o coração .
