This movie tells us the story of a Nazi officer who lives in Berlin and is promoted to commander of a Concentration Camp in the interior of Germany 

    He is married and has 2 children: a 12-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy. Bruno, your 8-year-old son, is unhappy, away from his friends. Bruno is a sociable and intelligent boy.

Bruno realises that they want to hide some truth from him. The mother controls him and doesn't let him communicate with other people who work in the house.. But the boy is a pioneer, intelligent and curious who wants to know what's going on with his own eyes and feelings. And, he manages to circumvent his mother's siege and have contact with another 8-year-old boy who is imprisoned. The mother tries to distract him until she realises that she herself is being cheated on by her husband. Because inside the concentration camp macabre things happen like a mass execution chamber and burning of corpses. From that, she decides to separate from her husband.

She is aware of these facts through a revealing comment from the Nazi lieutenant driver who works in the house. This officer is an ambiguous, aggressive and seductive person. He likes to cause discord in the family and terrorise. Conflicting and divided, he ends up revealing that his father, a university professor of literature, left Germany. This ambiguity is revealed in the destructive behaviour with the boss commander. He oscillates between beating to death the helpful and old Jew who served the family, in front of all of it, partly apparently as proof of fidelity to the boss and partly as a denunciation of the cruelty of this one who did not defend the prisoner thus demonstrating all his own cruelty to everyone present in the house. Shocking everyone.

Bruno realises that his pyjama friend, Samuel, is very hungry, that he is always wearing the same clothes, that people are numbered, that his grandparents died without burial and for no apparent reason, that he has to work even though he is a child, that he has no toys, not even a ball. Anyway, Bruno is smart to realise that his relationship with Samuel was not well seen, even condemned. So much so that she denies it when questioned by her father's driver and officer. You're afraid.

     Bruno knows the reality in a direct and honest way. He sees, he feels, he knows. Difficult reality that is not only that of war but that of lies. He is also a prisoner of lies. Your father is a fraud, he has nothing of a hero. It's just bad and cold. Self-interested man who only thinks about guaranteeing money and power, selfish. Like every narcissist. Referring to Ovid's "Myth of Narcissus". He falls in love with his own image because he doesn't realise that it's his own image. Narciso doesn't know who he is, and so he ends up drowning in himself. That's why, because of the confusion you have about yourself, you can't give yourself to anyone. Narcissus cannot love because, as he does not recognise himself, he cannot recognise the other either.

    Bruno wants to be proud of his father. Believe him. Keep the love you feel for this father. At the same time, seeing the violence that those people suffer just because they are enemies, or Jews, is unjustifiable. It's a lot to admit so much violence and cruelty in a loved one. Besides being very scary. How to trust someone so perverse, false? Bruno decides to believe in his father. Why would you pass fake images to other adults after all? In the movie shown to all the other officers in his house. His father was a correct, good man and managed his enemies of Fair and humane way. It is this image that Bruno, confused, among so many lies and harsh truths, decides to believe, thus making peace with his father. That's why he decides to enter the field to rescue the father he loved. Inside you worked, but it was good. At the same time, just like the lieutenant driver, he knew it was all a lie.    Esse filme nos conta a história de um oficial nazista que mora em Berlim e é promovido à comandante de um Campo de Concentração no interior da Alemanha

  Ele é casado e tem 2 filhos: uma menina de 12 anos e um menino de 8.            Bruno seu filho de 8 anos está infeliz , afastado de seus amigos. Bruno é um menino sociável e inteligente. 

    Bruno vai se dando conta de que querem esconder dele alguma verdade. A mãe o controla e não lhe deixa se comunicar com outrasl pessoas que trabalham na casa.. Mas o menino  é um   D , inteligente e curioso quer saber o que se passa com seus próprios olhos e sentimentos. E , consegue burlar o cerco da mãe e ter contato com outro menino de 8 anos que está preso. A mãe tenta distraí-lo até que se dá conta que ela mesma está sendo enganada pelo marido. Pois que dentro do campo de concentração coisas macabras acontecem como câmara de execução em massa e queima dos cadáveres. A partir disso, decide se separar do marido. 

    Desses fatos ela tem conhecimento por um comentário revelador do motorista tenente  nazista que trabalha na casa. Esse oficial é uma pessoa ambígua , agressiva e sedutora. Gosta de causar discórdia na família e aterrorizar . Conflituoso e dividido acaba por revelar que seu pai professor universitário de literatura saiu da Alemanha.  Essa ambiguidade é revelada no comportamento destrutivo com o patrão comandante . Ele oscila entre espancar até a morte o judeu prestativo e velho que servia à família, na frente de toda ela,  em parte aparentemente como prova de fidelidade ao patrão  e.em parte como denúncia da crueldade deste que não defendeu o prisioneiro demonstrando assim toda sua própria crueldade  à todos presentes na casa.  Chocando a todos.

     Bruno percebe que o amigo do pijama, Samuel, tem muita fome, que está sempre com a mesma roupa, que as pessoas são numeradas, que seus avós morreram sem enterro e sem motivo aparente, que ele tem de0 trabalhar mesmo sendo criança,  que não tem brinquedos , nem sequer uma bola. Enfim Bruno é inteligente pra perceber que sua relação com Samuel não era bem vista , até  mesmo condenada. Tanto que nega quando que questionada pelo motorista e oficial de seu pai. Tem medo. 

  Bruno conhece a realidade de forma direta e honesta. Ele vê , ele sente, ele sabe. Difícil realidade que não é apenas a da guerra mas sim , a das mentiras. Ele também é um prisioneiro das mentiras. Seu pai é uma fraude, de herói não tem nada. É simplesmente mau e frio. Homem interesseiro que só pensa em garantir dinheiro e poder, egoista. Como todo narcisista . Remetendo  ao  “Mito de Narciso” de Ovídio. Ele se apaixona pela própria imagem pois não percebe que é a sua própria imagem.  Narciso não sabe quem ele mesmo é ,e assim, acaba por  afogar-se em si mesmo.  Por isso , pela confusão que tem de si mesmo , não consegue se dar a ninguém . Narciso não pode amar pois, como não se reconhece, também não pode reconhecer ao outro. 

   Bruno quer se orgulhar de seu pai. Acreditar nele . Manter o amor que sente  por esse pai . Ao mesmo tempo ver a violência que aquelas pessoas sofrem apenas por serem inimigos, ou judeus, é injustificável . É muito e admitir tanta violência e crueldade em uma pessoa querida. Além de muito assustador. Como confiar em alguém assim perverso, falso? Bruno decide acreditar em seu pai. Porque afinal passaria imagens falsas para outros adultos?  No filme exibido à todos outros oficiais em sua casa. Seu pai era um homem correto, bom e administrava seus inimigos de 

 modo justo e humano. É essa imagem que Bruno, confuso, entre tantas mentiras e duras verdades , resolve acreditar, fazendo assim as pazes com seu pai. Por isso decide entrar no campo  quer resgatar o pai que amava . Lá dentro se trabalhava, mas era bom. Ao mesmo tempo, assim como o tenente motorista, ele sabia que era tudo mentira . Acabou coincidentemente entrando na hora mais trágica . Na hora do banho de gás!
